Bathing Supplies:
Have these at hand before you start bathing your baby:
You will need soft washcloths/sponges, baby soap and shampoo (don't let the
shampoo get into the baby's eyes), large soft towels (one for drying and one to place the baby on),
baby creams and lotions as well as clean clothes and diapers.
Bathing Tips:
Always start washing your baby from the head down, wash your baby's face with a
warm washcloth, gently wipe the eyes (using a different corner of washcloth each
time) and then apply tearless baby formulated shampoo while holding your baby
like a football at the tip of his head. Pour some water from a cup over the
baby's head without letting water stream onto the babies face. When washing your
babies body make sure to clean between skinfolds and behind the ears.
When finished, wrap your baby in a towel and place him/her on the 2nd towel.
Gently pat your baby dry and remember to dry within the skinfolds as well. Dress
your baby (don't forget about the clean diaper and applying the body lotions
first).
